Darth Pedant

When the book description said one of the main characters (Nels) gets murdered, I was all, "Oooooh! YA dark fantasy!" But alas. So far its got a fluffy twee feel to it, almost more middle grade than YA. The Ghost of Nels is currently haunting the princess Patrick Swayze style, attempting to annoy her into doing his bidding and helping him find his killer, and I'm getting bored with the both of them.

Now I'm miffed at myself, because the book isn't badly written, and if I hadn't misled myself and given myself false expectations, I would probably be enjoying it more.

Sigh.
