Venetia has convinced herself that Damerel is blameless for his own actions and the evil wanton slut who seduced him is entirely at fault for his dissolution, if indeed he is so very dissolute (and she doesn't think he is). For realsies. This is what she's telling herself, in spite of his repeated assurances that he is not a respectable gentleman. I'm just waiting now for her Naivety Train to go off the rails. :P
