Howliday Inn

While Bunnicula was co-authored by James and Deborah Howe, James wrote all the subsequent books on his own after Deborah passed away. The dedication of Howliday Inn reads: In memory of Debbie. Child me didn’t notice. Adult me’s heart broke a little. I think James did Deborah proud, even though my favorite character only gets a mention in this book.
Howliday Inn is more “murder” mystery than spooky story, and it’s a hilarious one at that. I think I actually enjoyed this one more as an adult. There’s an adult side to the humor that I wasn’t equipped to appreciate as a child. This was well worth the re-read.
