The Celery Stalks at Midnight

This third Bunnicula book sees a return to the same vanquish-the-cute-fluffy-vampire theme of the first book . . . with a twist! This time Chester, Harold, and Howie are bent on vanquishing the cute fluffy vampire's potentially-undead vegetable minions because, as the cover asks so pithily, who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of artichokes? It's cute and silly, but the puns wear a bit thin after a while and there's an excess of slapstick. I'm not disappointed, but I'm not as enchanted as I was with its predecessors, which I'm pretty sure was my reaction to it as a child.
This is the last book in my personal Bunnicula collection. I think there are three or four more that I've never read, and I will be trying to track down copies in the future to complete my vampire bunny education.
